Offcuts or new sheets: compare the same list.

Total area is misleading: two parts may add up to less than an offcut and still not fit.

Start with coverage

Offcuts only shows what needs no additional purchase. New sheets give a clean reference. Mixed uses inventory first and adds sheets when coverage improves.

Read cost correctly

€0 for offcuts means zero additional purchase, not worthless material. An incomplete cheap plan is not called a saving against a complete one.

Verify the drawing

Each SVG shows IDs, dimensions, and orientation. The heuristic returns the best plan found across several orderings; it does not prove a global optimum or impossibility.
